Ulysses, set in June 16th 1904 Dublin, is a highly referential, sardonic, and intentionally convoluted story of two guys walking around for a day. To me, it's also Pokémon. Or, one could say, can be interpreted through a Pokemonian lense. The barebones of the story I'm hitting my head against here is still Ulysses. Neither Bloom nor Stephen are trying to become the 'pokemon champion,' but they do have pokemon and the story's symbolism will be carried partially through pokemon. Please talk to me about this.
